An illustrated first-hand account of immigration detention. Mark Reid is a legal advocate and supports immigrants in deportation proceedings. He is the founder of Families and Friends Against Deportation. Mark was also the lead plaintiff in a landmark class action lawsuit, Reid v. Donelan, contending that prolonged detention without a bond hearing violates immigration statutes and the constitution. For more information: http://www.communitybondsfilms.com/

An illustrated first-hand account of immigration detention. Miguel Williamson lives in Connecticut with his wife Sandra. He is still fighting his immigration case. Williamson nearly lost his life in immigration detention. He was transferred from Massachusetts to the Etowah County Detention Facility in Alabama. Due to medical neglect at this facility, he suffered a massive heart attack that led to kidney failure. Williamson was not released from detention until February 2015 when Mark Reid, another storyteller in this series, helped to file a habeas corpus petition in federal court.
